SSM Satellite Meeting on Intervention-Generated Inequalities

Tuesday 8th September 2009

Adjacent to this year's Society for Social Medicine Annual Scientific Meeting at Newcastle University from 9-11th September is a one-day satellite meeting on the topic of Intervention-Generated Inequalities on Tuesday 8 September.

The meeting promises to provide an excellent forum for critical examination and discussion of this significant, yet under-researched, problem which affects clinical, preventive and policy interventions.

Keynote speakers include Prof Peter Tugwell (Ottawa), Prof Mark Petticrew (LSHTM), Prof Graham Watt (Glasgow), Dr Sarah Wild (Edinburgh), as well as distinguished discussants from the NHS and academia.

The day will provide a spring-board for the development of a wide-ranging, collaborative research programme within the Centre for Translational Research in Public Health.

Further details about the event can be found below and on the SSM2009 conference website at: http://www.ssm2009.org.uk/satellite.html.

Registration for the main conference closes at midnight on Thursday 20 August, but registration for the satellite meeting will remain open until 1 September.
