Improving the Future Healthcare Workforce Conference
Friday 19th March 2010
9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Newcastle
Improving the Future Healthcare Workforce: Collaborative Learning and Teaching in Action Conference takes place on 19 March 2010 from 9.30am-4pm in St James’ Park, Newcastle upon Tyne.
This conference represents an opportunity to learn about some of the work of the regional Centre for Excellence in Healthcare Professional Education (CETL4healthNE) and its contribution to enhancing the North East’s collaborative approach to healthcare workforce development. We are particularly pleased to have three national figures as keynote speakers to address the main themes of the conference:
Garth Long (Professional Advisor, Education, Nursing and Midwifery Council) Shaping the future healthcare workforce – a policy perspective
Sir Alan Langlands (Chief Executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England) Delivering change to make a difference – partnership between Health and Education
Professor Lesley-Jane Eales-Reynolds (Director of Teaching and Learning, University of Westminster) Transforming the future – engaging innovation
The conference also offers an opportunity to influence how CETL4healthNE, which plans to continue its healthcare education and training innovation activities for at least 2 more years, can contribute to the work and success of the recently announced North East Quality Accelerator HIEC, part of the DH-funded Health Innovation Education Clusters (HIECs) programme.
